We are counting down to the women’s individual triathlon race at the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 – and we have a spectacular field set to dive into the River Seine after the event was given the green light.
The world’s greatest short-course specialists will line up on Wednesday (0800 local time, 0700 UK, 0200 EST, 2300 Tuesday PST) with history beckoning as they bid for medal glory in the sport’s biggest dance of all.
Three years ago in Tokyo it was Bermuda’s Flora Duffy storming to a golden victory, with Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown and Katie Zaferes grabbing silver and bronze.
Duffy is back to defend her title again, but after an injury-hit preparation she will not start as favourite. Instead the big battle for gold is expected to be between Britain’s World Champion Beth Potter and French home hope Cassandre Beaugrand.
It should be epic entertainment in an iconic setting, and we have a stellar field.
